The Island Dog Training Club has been helping owners with their dogs for over 50 years. We were first registered with the Kennel Club on 17 April 1962, although members were meeting and training for some time prior to this.
We run regular classes to show new and experienced owners ways to train useful behaviours such as coming when called or not pulling on the lead. We also support those training their dogs to participate in dog sports like agility and obedience competition.
Our aim is to help dog owners achieve their training goals, from first time dog owners to experienced, competitive handlers, from puppies to older dogs, pedigree or crossbreeds – they all have potential and are all welcome.
We offer a range of activities, these include:
- Puppy and Newcomers courses
- Pet dog classes
- Competitive obedience
- Agility
- Junior handling classes
We are fortunate in that our predecessors had the foresight to invest in the future by ensuring that we have our own clubroom specifically for dog training, indoor shows and pre agility.
Having our own clubroom allows us to have classes almost every night of the week.
You can find our clubroom on Collings Road, St Peter Port, Guernsey.
