DESCRIPTION:Dates:\n\n7th October 2026 at 6:15pm\n14th October 2026 at 6:15pm\n21st October 2026 at 6:15pm\n28th October 2026 at 6:15pm\n4th November 2026 at 6:15pm\n11th November 2026 at 6:15pm\n\nThis 6 week course is for all new members and current members and it comprises of 6 weeks in your Puppy/Newcomers group after which members can choose to continue their training with further classes in either companion obedience\, competitive obedience or agility. \nA maximum of 8 dogs and handlers attend each course\, as it is very important to socialise your puppy with other dogs and people from the outset\, which is one reason why the Royal Kennel Club introduced this scheme.  Courses are run by a minimum of two trainers giving a good ratio of trainers to handlers. \nNumbers are limited and courses are very popular\, so to save disappointment reserve your place as soon as possible. \nPlease note:\nThe course is to teach basic life skills to puppies but dogs of all ages are welcome.  However\, as the majority of attendees are puppies the courses are not suitable for dogs which require focused training on dealing with behavioural difficulties. SUMMARY:Saturday Agility Beginner and Intermediate
DESCRIPTION:These classes are open to Members who have successfully completed an IDTC Pre-Agility & Hoopers Foundation Course or have some prior agility experience. If you have not completed an IDTC course\, you may be able to join the classes\, but this will be at the discretion of the Agility Trainers; please contact the Club to register interest (agility@idtc.co.uk) and one of our Trainers will contact you.  All dogs must have control off lead in an outdoor environment.  Dogs must be a minimum of 12 months old.  Both classes are intended to build on the skills learned on the IDTC Pre-Agility & Hoopers Foundation Course to include increasing drive and motivation\, directional skills and running longer sequences and will also introduce weaves and other contact equipment. \nFor those who can show some consistency in running short sequences and be able to perform (or have a good appreciation of) front and rear crosses\, blind crosses\, wing wraps\, turns and have some experience of using the contact equipment (dog-walk\, A-Frame\, see-saw)\, the group may be split to provide an intermediate level class (or vice-versa) but this will be dependent on the experience and numbers signed up to the class on that day\, and availability of Trainers to run separate classes.  Both classes will help to build the confidence of the handler and their dog and seek to introduce more complex agility skills to assist handlers to run more complex courses. \nBookings for these Saturday morning classes must be made in advance\, online by midnight on the Thursday prior to the relevant Saturday class.  You may book for more than one class at a time if you wish to do so and there will be a maximum of 6 Handlers in each Class\, if all spaces are booked.  They are generally held between 9.00am and 11.00am from end of March to end October and are run by Martina de la Mare\, Jo Ouseley\, Simon de la Mare\, Sam Langmead and Jane Le Maitre.  Bookings may be made via Book a Course \nPlease note that the Beginner Class and Intermediate Class may occasionally run back to back (so at 9.00am and 10.00 am) or may run at the same time.  Dependent on the numbers and experience of those booked\, they might also be held as one class and all will be subject to Trainer availability.  It is not possible to book either Beginner or Intermediate specifically\, but please contact the Trainers (agility@idtc.co.uk) if you would like to work on something specific and we will do our best to accommodate this.

SUMMARY:Silver Good Citizen Course - 2 Weeks from 11/10
DESCRIPTION:Dates:\n\n11th October 2026 at 10am\n18th October 2026 at 10am\nAssessment: 25th October 2026 at 10am\n\n  \nThis 2 week course is for members and their dogs who have passed the Kennel Club Bronze Good Citizen Assessment. \n\n\nIDTC will run a Kennel Club Silver Good Citizen assessment the week after this course finishes\, starting at 10am for approximately 2 hours. Participants are assessed by a UK Kennel Club qualified assessor. There is no charge for the assessment but a minimum donation of £5 is suggested to be made on the day for a charity nominated by the assessor. \n\n\nFurther Good Citizen details can be found on our website or on the Kennel Club website. \n\n\nFull details and handouts will be supplied on week one. \n\nThis course is limited to a maximum of 6 dogs and handlers and places must be pre-booked online.

SUMMARY:Saturday Agility Beginner and Intermediate
DESCRIPTION:These classes are open to Members who have successfully completed an IDTC Pre-Agility & Hoopers Foundation Course or have some prior agility experience. If you have not completed an IDTC course\, you may be able to join the classes\, but this will be at the discretion of the Agility Trainers; please contact the Club to register interest (agility@idtc.co.uk) and one of our Trainers will contact you.  All dogs must have control off lead in an outdoor environment.  Dogs must be a minimum of 12 months old.  Both classes are intended to build on the skills learned on the IDTC Pre-Agility & Hoopers Foundation Course to include increasing drive and motivation\, directional skills and running longer sequences and will also introduce weaves and other contact equipment. \nFor those who can show some consistency in running short sequences and be able to perform (or have a good appreciation of) front and rear crosses\, blind crosses\, wing wraps\, turns and have some experience of using the contact equipment (dog-walk\, A-Frame\, see-saw)\, the group may be split to provide an intermediate level class (or vice-versa) but this will be dependent on the experience and numbers signed up to the class on that day\, and availability of Trainers to run separate classes.  Both classes will help to build the confidence of the handler and their dog and seek to introduce more complex agility skills to assist handlers to run more complex courses. \nBookings for these Saturday morning classes must be made in advance\, online by midnight on the Thursday prior to the relevant Saturday class.  You may book for more than one class at a time if you wish to do so and there will be a maximum of 6 Handlers in each Class\, if all spaces are booked.  They are generally held between 9.00am and 11.00am from end of March to end October and are run by Martina de la Mare\, Jo Ouseley\, Simon de la Mare\, Sam Langmead and Jane Le Maitre.  Bookings may be made via Book a Course \nPlease note that the Beginner Class and Intermediate Class may occasionally run back to back (so at 9.00am and 10.00 am) or may run at the same time.  Dependent on the numbers and experience of those booked\, they might also be held as one class and all will be subject to Trainer availability.  It is not possible to book either Beginner or Intermediate specifically\, but please contact the Trainers (agility@idtc.co.uk) if you would like to work on something specific and we will do our best to accommodate this.

DESCRIPTION:Dates:\n\n4th November 2026 at 7:30pm\n11th November 2026 at 7:30pm\n18th November 2026 at 7:30pm\nAssessment: 25th November 2026 at 7:30pm\n\n  \nThis 3 week course is for members and their dogs who have successfully completed the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Course. \n\n\nIDTC will run a Kennel Club Bronze Good Citizen assessment the week after this course finishes\, starting at 7:30pm for approximately 1.5 hours. Participants are assessed by a UK Kennel Club qualified assessor. There is no charge for the assessment but a minimum donation of £5 is suggested to be made on the day for a charity nominated by the assessor. \n\n\nFurther Good Citizen details can be found on our website or on the Kennel Club website. \n\n\nFull details and handouts will be supplied on week one. \n\nThis course is limited to a maximum of 6 dogs and handlers and places must be pre-booked online.
